Simply stated, trading is a lot harder than it looks. You can study all the books, pay homage to all the market gurus, and still fail to profit when it’s time to risk your capital. Or someones elses capital – thats even worse. Ironically, mastering the most advanced trading strategies is the easiest part of your job. Applying those skills in a stomach-wrenching tape is far more difficult.
In reality, most traders crash and burn because of a lack of discipline rather than a lack of knowledge. Internalizing this single piece of wisdom will become your greatest obstacle in profiting from speculation
Yup, those are the points I know very well but as realized today found uite hard to follow. Trading with my own money – I can take it easy. Once its on trading account – my money becomes something Virtual Something I dont own – for me. So seeing those red “loss” number getting bigger and bigger dont freak me out. But what I have learned – when someone trusts me his money to trade with I loose all my rationalism. I would become driven by success … trading smaller amounts?
Yeah right but if those small amounts profited me 70 dollars with just 30 minutes (while I was at my lunch break) – I automatically got driven by success and inserted multiple more deals – yes thats not the “bad point” yet. The big mistake happened when I stayed watching how it goes….
How did it went then…well at first nothing happened – that’s not what I was after, so I started bringin my buying prices closer and closer to where market was at that point -until “Purchase” got done and the options were bought….I had insrted my loss points according to the volatility of commodity I was trading with – but staring at those scary RED numbers indicating loss getting bigger and bigger I panicked.
I was loosing SOMEONES money – I had to stop it….and I sold position Before it reached my stop point – later having had look back to it – I should have not done it, cos BEFORE my stop-loss point reached the commodity index changed direction and would have brought me nice profit, if only I had not panicked and soled the position in order to cut the loss.
Well at one point after some time having cutting deals foolishly trying to save “the trade” I had lost half of the money I had put in. Would have been good point to stop for that day but I was too much desperate to earn the lost money back and give some nice “trading summary” in the end of the day so I did not stop. I continued. Until I had just 15 dollars left on the trading account. Thats when I relized there is nothing much that can be done.
I inserted some limit orders for night and went to sleep. That was one of the best decision I made yesterday as when I woke up some deals had closed at night and amount on trading account had grown to 35. Yeah I had some hope again – maybe everything is still not gone?
Well it was….cos again I stayed online staring at the numbers and lost everything.
What did I learn from all this?
1) Dont stare at the numbers, turst your stop-and loss points and relax.
2) Dont trade for someone. Its way much more scary and defeintely not worth the stress.
3) In whatever situation -WHATEVER situation, follow those damn point brought above ! Damn it!
While working at Investment bank I often met customers who thought profit can me made only when stocks and indexes are rising.
Nope! Not at all!
There are several ways to make profit from falling market. One option is ‘Selling Short” this is a method were you would be selling stock that you actually do not have.
For instance right now Stock A costs 100dollars. but if I believe the price would drop soon then while accepting on the trading account conditions of trading with margin and Selling Short I can virtually “Borrow ” the stock, sell them now with 100 dollar and “Buy back” cheaper once the price has dropped. Yeah – when the price would happen to raise I will be in problem – especially if I did not have the money to buy the stocks back with higher price…. 🙂
Another version is trading with “Put” options. Literally Put options are Sell options – so in very simple speech they are contracts that would allow me to SELL stock in future with todays price.
So if today Corporation A stocks cost 100 dollar per each, and I believe that after certain time the price would drop I can purchase a contract that would allow me to sell Corporation A stock in Future with todays price. So now I have the contract and the prices of the stock will drop….. What will happen with my contract? Yes – it adds value! More the prices of Corporation A stock will drop – more valuable my contract will get.
If corporation A stocks would cost 50 dollar each. Wouldnt you love to have a contract in hand that allows you to sell those stocks with 100 dollar from each? Ofcourse you would!
So in very simply explained – that is the magic of Put options.
So while trading on volatile market or on falling market – instead of buying stock you buy just Put option – and it will act like a stock for you. If market falls – your option adds up value. If market raises – your option will become worthless. Simple as that.
I love trading with options, and moreover I love trading with put options. As always the falls are ore sudden and sharp than raises – so profit from Put options is also more fast to come.
One place that allows you to start trading with Put and Call options from initial deposit as low as 10 dollars only is IQ Option. But careful here – money is easy to come but it can also go as easy 🙂 I have tried it out 🙂

I dont know what the hell I was searching from web at that moment when my browser advised me to click on the link that promised to show me how to get rich in internet fast!
Well behind that link was a video where pretty lady in very nice house was talking about Binary Options and Black Budget and US Governement bad plans.
And yeah – this lady promised to show me how to become a millionaire. The Video was very long – she kept going on and on…well I could not finish it. Instead of that I googled her name and the systm she was offering.

I have worked in Investment bank before and I do know that Options are something that would allow you to start trading with super small amounts.
As I do not have plenty cash on me now I concentrated my search on platforms that would allow me to start as low as 50 dollars – or less.
One of the places I found (and love even now many weeks later) is Trade360 – Minimum deposit there is 25 dollars only! But things get better 🙂

I got 50 Dollar start up money just for confirming the phone number. And no I have not lost the money (that I did not even pay in myself) but I have managed to grow it. I must say – the beginning was very slow… I got to buy only two positions in gold and for third one the system already advised me to add cash. Which I did not. I was ok with 2 contracts 🙂
When buying positions I always entered my “stop loss” and “take profit” amounts. Also I entered some orderes for stand by – like if the Gold index level would pass certan price I buy. When profit would reach to 10 I would sell. (Yeah 10 dollars!!! Remember, the trade started from 0 dollars so 10 is already big profit ::) Those orderes allowed me to sleep peacefully.
So next day my Equity had reached to 87,
Few hours later it was 91
Another day pased and it was 100!
So yeah I am happy still, one system that works and allows also to cash out 🙂
My favourite instrument is Gold there. I tried the currency indexes too but they were bit too active for me and I tended to burn. Gold is just fine! 🙂
